Ancient house in Alessandria
Project by Colla Arredi Atelier
Architects Cristina Colla and Mario Guano
“We are in a house built in the early ‘900 as the beautiful handrail of the main staircase testifies. The ceilings are decorated with colors, the original wood floors and mosaics have been retained, and the intervention has affected the building structure only the kitchen, combining two previous rooms, the long corridor, that characterizes the house, and the service area.
Two large iron doors windows surrounding the kitchen and living area have been realized by our craftsmen and the floor has been redone using an industrial parquet; the intervention is delineated clearly with a precise cut from the classical context.
The decor is yet to be completed. The apartment has an area of about 300 square meters and the attention to details requires great attention.
The Boffi kitchen has a snack desk especially designed and made with recycled wood. The couches are by De Padova and Flexform, the library is by De Padova and everything has been harmonized with vintage pieces owned by the family.”
